I haven’t touched clay in four days. That’s so unlike me. But sometimes life gets in the way and other things have to take priority.
It’s dangerous to fall out of your creative rhythm, not only because it take a while to fall back into it again, but because it’s the makings of a habit. Not making contact with clay for four days can easily turn into a week, then two, and so on.
To compsensate, I try to do at least something clay related, this post being one of them. I also spend time researching new techniques to keep me excited about going back to the creative process. But I know that tomorrow, after a long day of teaching, that it’s still going to take discipline to get back to it.
